Maps and a General Description of Our Location

The Kalamazoo House is located at 447 West South Street in downtown Kalamazoo, MI.  We are on the south side of the street (facing north) and are situated between the upscale Marlborough condominiums and the Kalamazoo Institute of the Arts.  We're just a half-block from the Civic Theatre and Bronson Park.  South Street is a one-way street heading East, and you'll come to us off Westnedge Blvd.  (View a map from Mapquest, or download a map to print)

Parking

We have a U-shaped driveway, and a small parking lot behind the house.  Enter right past the Marlborough Building, park in the lot, and come around to the side door to check in.  If there are no parking spaces available when you arrive, just drive around to the side porch to unload and check in, and we will direct you to another free parking location very near by.

*Due to construction & ramp closures, avoid I-94/Westnedge Avenue exits.*

Directions from the South (using northbound US 131)

As you travel north on US 131 and approach the Kalamazoo area, pass I-94 and take exit 36A for Business 94/US131 Business (which is Stadium Drive), and turn right to come East toward downtown.  After about 3.5 miles, and just after passing WMU's Bronco Stadium, you'll veer right on South Street (you'll see a clothing store named Frayed on the corner).  After the light at Westnedge, we are halfway down the block on the right.

Directions from the North (using southbound US 131)

Traveling south on US 131, as you get near to Kalamazoo you will want to keep an eye open for an exit ramp that goes east (left) and says "Downtown Kalamazoo." Take this exit ramp which will take you on an eastward highway for 2 miles or so. Eventually this highway will turn right and become Westnedge Avenue, traveling south into Kalamazoo.  (Friendly tip....watch your speed as the speed limits go from highway speed to 35 to 25 quite rapidly).  You will go through lights at Kalamazoo Avenue and Michigan Avenue, and the next light is South Street, where you will turn left. We are half-way down the block on the right.

Directions from the West  (using eastbound I-94)

As you travel east heading towards Kalamazoo, you'll head north on US 131 towards Grand Rapids.  Take the first exit (#36A) for Business 94/Business US 131 (which is Stadium Drive), and turn right to come East towards downtown.  After about 3.5 miles, and just after passing WMU's Bronco Stadium, you'll veer right on South Street (you'll see a clothing store named Frayed on the corner).  After the first light at Westnedge, we are halfway down the block on the right.

Directions from the East (using westbound I-94)

If you're traveling from the east heading west toward Kalamazoo on I-94, once you get near the Kalamazoo area, take Exit #81 to merge onto I-94 Business West toward downtown.  You'll travel about 3.5 miles following the signs to stay on Business I-94, which will involve two well-marked left turns.  After turning Left on Michigan Avenue (which splits and becomes Kalamazoo Avenue), you'll go about a mile and then turn left on Westnedge Avenue (look for the large green overhead sign for Westnedge).  At the 2nd light, turn left on South Street; we are half-way down the block on the right.
